Delquit
Brand name – Delquit
Composition – Paraquat Dichloride 24% SL
Delquit commonly referred to as “paraquat,” is one of the most widely used herbicides in the United States. Delquit is also often referred to as Gramoxone (a popular end-use product). It is an important tool for the control of weeds in many agricultural and non-agricultural settings. It is also used for desiccation of crops, like cotton, prior to harvest.
As an herbicide, paraquat acts by inhibiting photosynthesis. In light-exposed plants, it accepts electrons from photosystem I (more specifically ferredoxin, which is presented with electrons from PS I) and transfers them to molecular oxygen. In this manner, destructive reactive oxygen species (ROS) are produced.
Doses – 500-800ml per acre.
